FGB generates hydroelectricity from the Toules artificial reservoir, situated at the foot of the Great St Bernard pass in Valais Canton. The power is supplied to the company’s two shareholders.

After leaving the Pallazuit plant, the Dranse is then channelled another three times through turbines before flowing into the Rhone: at the Orsières plant (owned by Forces Motrices d'Orsières); at the Sembrancher plant (owned by Forces Motrices de Sembrancher); and at the Alpiq power station in Martigny-Bourg.
