The project aims to generate power by harnessing water flowing from the upper part of the Fossau river, in territory belonging to the municipality of Vouvry. The new mini-hydropower plant will be installed in a building belonging to Bas-Valais Energie SA (Romande Energie Group), in which is located the Vouvry power plant that generates power from the waters of Lake Tanay.
The electricity generated by the new plant will flow on to Romande Energie's grid and benefit from federal compensatory feed-in remuneration (CFR).
