Dransgrid SA, headquartered in Orsières (canton of Valais), is a joint venture between DransEnergie and Romande Energie.

The purpose of the company is the ownership of the medium-voltage grid in Val d’Entremont while entrusting management thereof (asset management and operations) to other entities based on the asset owner/service provider model. The company receives a regulated WACC, guaranteeing revenue to the owners. The medium-voltage gird provides electricity to three municipalities, Bourg-St-Pierre, Liddes and Orsières, as well as to the St Bernard tunnel. This represents roughly 40 million kWh.

Moreover, the company is seeking to attract other shareholders to its grid, with the aim of harnessing their expertise in grid management in today’s increasingly complex environment.
